Today's Daily Affirmation of Becoming

Last week, I visited the National Center for Civil and Human Rights here in Atlanta, and it served as a powerful reminder to never stop becoming and never stop pursuing your dreams.

As I reflected on the courage of the Freedom Riders, Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and so many others whose sacrifices helped move our nation forward, I was reminded that progress has always required perseverance. Their journeys were not easy, but they kept moving forward despite obstacles, setbacks, and uncertainty.

Today's affirmation comes from Dr. King, a man to whom I dedicated my very first book:

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

No matter what challenges you're facing, keep going. Keep growing. Keep becoming. Your dream is worth the journey.
